Every year during the seasonal migration to the sea, the healers, medicine people, and shaman would gather nearby in their own encampment. It was a time to be together, talk about their people, their bands, and what was happening in their communities. This time together would allow them to be with their own kind. Most of the year they were isolated and spent their time focused and working on others. This was a time for themselves. They did not need to care for their people. They could just rest within the arms of the community of healers. This place they gathered was called quartzite hill, and it is one of the reasons Stalking Wolf choose to place his camp where he did.
We gather in the ancient mountains of our home in Asheville, North Carolina. It is the second year of a new tradition of providing a place of refuge for healers. The second annual gathering of healers, medicine people, and shaman will take place on September 3rd through the 5th. It is here that we will connect, share skills, gather with friends, and reconnect with the land. Can we let this simple weekend be the start of a world where healers gather, teach, and bring forth what they have learned for their communities?
This year we will be focusing on community and professionalism, with a particular focus on clinics and healing sessions. More information will be forthcoming!
Ready to heal?
This festival costs $300 for the weekend which includes camping, food, and most activities (those that cost extra will be clearly identified).
