Creating place for community begins with location. We will be gathering in Montreat, NC, at the Montreat Conference Center. Classes will be held at the conference center's campsites, located in a 4000 acre cove of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Access to this designated wilderness area will allow us to take advantage of its 40 miles of hiking trails and the landscapes they offer.

We look forward to convening and manifesting here for powerful transformation.

student camping

The Montreat Family Campground is nestled among the hardwoods, laurels, and rhododendrons that run alongside Graybeard Stream. Campsites can be found at the end of the dead end road named Calvin Trail. Please drive into the campground and park along the campsite road. You will be able to drive your car either to your campsite location, or within a hundred feet of the site.

For students who are camping during class, you are taken care of and do not need to contact the campground to make reservations. The registrar should send you a listing of available campsites before the start of class. Please contact Matthew Adams at (828) 785-4311, ext 710. If you need to rent a tent or sleeping pad from us, you need to contact 2 weeks prior to class. Please go ahead and follow the directions below to get to camp. You do not need to check in anywhere else before arrival onsite.

Please note: If you plan on arriving early for class, or staying late during the months on May to October while the campsite is officially open, you need to make reservations for any additional nights with the Assembly Inn at 828.419.9843. If you desire to arrive early or stay late from November to April, please contact the registrar to see if this is possible

Classes are normally held at the end northern edge of the campsite, at the very end of the campsite road.

student lodging

Please contact the registrar at least a month prior to class to reserve a bed in the lodges. Most rooms cost between $35 and $70 per night depending on availability and interest. All rooms are heated and have a full bathroom, either attached or shared with other students; linens are provided in the cost of the room. Some dorms also include a full kitchen. Rooms contain 2 single beds, but for an additional fee singles rooms may be available upon request. Lodges are a 5 minute drive from the classrooms. Dorms might not be walking distance from the classroom depending on which site is available. While dorms are most likely available during the fall, winter or spring months, the conference center might not have availability during the summer months.
