Karl DireskeThe dictionary defines integrity as the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles. It also defines integrity as upholding territorial integrity and national sovereignty.
The problem with this definition is both honesty and morality are seen as qualities defined outside of ourselves. What if we see these qualities as defined at our core, at the place that all choice and vision begin?
What if all of our internal spheres; physical, primal, spirit, void, creator, Creation and soul, are in alignment? What if integrity is a place that all of our internal landscapes are in alignment with our core? If honesty and morality are in relationship to creator, or our vision, then we can make our choices in a consistent way from the place of commitment to our vision.
Our choices are constantly changing. Integrity is not static. If you see something as static it is probably already dead; it has stopped moving. Remember, everything moves.
This takes integrity out of the conceptual, or the external, and into a realm of practice. It also takes another’s morality out of the equation of our own integrity. We need to be very careful not to project our integrity or our vision onto another. Let others make their own choices and have their own vision. Our work is not to judge someone’s vision, it is to ensure that our vision is in alignment with our own core.
Our work is to continually come back to the journey within as we make contact with the external. How do we allow for mystery within integrity? How do we maintain integrity in each moment?
